so far nearly 30 people were killed in riots following the mohhamed cartoons posted at Jyllands-Posten. is it worth it? is the honor of the "prophet" worth the lives of so many people? further more, i am certain that these riots are completely avoidable. remember, they started only now, after some good souls in denmark made sure they reach the right people in the arab world. they were first published in september, and a month later in the egyptian al-fager, in the heart of the arab world, without a hitch. the only conclusion is that these riots started by people, probably governments, who wanted to divert public attension from their own doings. and from there, it continued to roll without control. these are the people the muslims should be angry about, people who brought the death of dozens of muslims, and not some small paper in denmark nobody would have heard about if it wasn't for all of this.
on the other side, it's good to see these riots. the lack of any tollerance to criticism or freedom of speech in the muslim culture expresses very well the difference between the western civilisation and the arab one, and show why these two can't co-exist peacefully. the increasing number of muslims in europe will eventually lead to some kind of explosion, as long as the arabs keep their heritage. at some point, europe will have to decide, if it becomes an extension of the middle east, where women are murdered if they date someone without their brother's permission, or keep their heritage, which brought them to be part of the most technologically advanced civilisation.
